Employer Coalition Immigration Workshop (June 2008)

In February 2008, the Government launched a new immigration system to ensure that only those with the right skills or the right contribution will be able to come to the UK to work and study. With the introduction of the new Points-Based-System employers need to be aware of the following key changes in the UK immigration policy:

  • New grounds for refusal
  • Changes to the law cocerning prevention of illegal working
  • 'Points-Based-System' for managed migration into the UK

As a result, CREC hosted a workshop designed to enhance an organisation's confidence to effectively manage the new system. The workshop was facilitated by ASG Immigration, with input from Jobcentre Plus and law firm, DLAP Piper. Delegates were also given the opportunity to discuss case studies and share best practice.
