Jobshare UK Conference & Exhibition (April 2008)
Flexible working, Flexible thinking.
This conference marked the official launch of Jobshare UL, promoting flexible working as best practice. Winners of the Working Families Innovation Award 2005/06 and The National Age Positive Recruitment Excellence Award 2004/05, Jobshare UK is an innovative online jobs-board providing part-time, job-share, flexible and temporary roles. The Goverment's quality part-time work fund and Yorkshire Forward also supported the conference and the event was run in partnership with Working Families and the UK Reseource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology.
Key messages of the day; there is a business, social and moral case to implement flexible working practices into business at all levels, includig Senior Management. Any business that does not implement flexible working as best practice will lose its competitive edge.
Many organisations were keen for Jobshare UK to deliver follow-up training programmes relating to the practical implementation of flexible working policies, which were delivered throughout 2008.
