Small Business Week Round Table Discussion (October 2008)

A group of senior regional business and public sector representatives met at Cutlers Hall in Sheffield to debate "How can we help small businesses in South Yorkshire and Humber survive and thrive?" CREC Director, Anj Handa, Viv Duke MD of Flexworks UK and Trevor Higgins, Regional Partnership Director for BT and Chair of CREC's Flexible Working Group participated in the round table discussion.

The debate was part of Small Business Week 2008, sponsored by BT Business, which supports 30,000+ customers in the region.  Small Business Week brings together businesses, government agencies and advice organisations in a wide range of eventxs and discussions in locations across the UK. The Small Business Week facilitated debate on issues that affect the small business community, including identifyings solutions to support long-term success.

Whilst there are clearly many views about the size of the task facing small businesses - and the role of suppliers and business groups in supporting them right now - it was very clear that we are all working towards helping this community succeed.
